Tuesday Night Ride & BBQ: May 1st p/b Best Buddies Challenge
It's that time of the year folks, the beginning of the cycling season and the first Tuesday Night Ride (TNR) and Barbeque. This Tuesday night, May 1st 2012 @ 6:30pm, we will be having the first barbeque ride of the season. This first BBQ Ride is EXTRA special... it's being sponsored by the Best Buddies Challenge.
The 2012 Audi Best Buddies Challenge: Washington, D.C. is an inspiring day of athletic events in the nation’s capital that benefits people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. On Saturday, October 20, 2012 participants of all ages and athletic abilities will start on the National Mall, and enjoy breathtaking views of historic Washington, D.C. on roads closed exclusively for our event. The day will conclude at Morven Park with a extravagant gourmet barbeque, open bar and a private concert for all the fundraisers. Each participant can select from a 100 mile, 100K, or 20-mile bike or a 5K run/walk led by nine-time Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis. To register please visit: www.bestbuddieschallenge.org.
Come join the Freshbikes crew this Tuesday night, May 1st, 2012 for a great ride through scenic Arlington, VA . The ride starts promptly at 6:30 pm and is for cyclists of all abilities. Helmets are REQUIRED so please make sure you bring yours. After the ride join us for fajitas (cooked on-site by Baja Fresh) and dessert (provided by Vapiano).
Remember folks, that on-site parking is very limited, so we suggest that you ride your bikes to the ride, and remeber, riding home after dark requires lights.
