Specialized's Sirrus Elite will make all your favorite rides even more fun with its light, lively and efficient Specialized aluminum frame. Up front, a Specialized Zertz-enhanced carbon fork damps vibration to smooth bumps in the road for top comfort and control. You'll also love the free-rolling 700c wheels and the flat handlebars with easy-to-reach controls. Plus, from running short errands in style to heading out on longer loops, you'll be glad you have an easy-pedaling Shimano 27-speed drivetrain for conquering hills and powerful linear-pull brakes for the trips back down.

I am retired and use this bike for fitness/recreation. After years of neck/back problems I switched to a flat bar road bike. Good hill climber. I ride about 2500 miles per year.

Had bike for 3 months- ride at metro parks, street, and hard packed gravel trails without fail. Riding the streets of Detroit has many challenges i.e. glass and massive pot holes that we avoid with no problem at a fast clip. Bike is quick, nimble, and tough looking. Great value for the price.

Excellent bike for riding on the road and smooth gravel trails. I have a base Sirrus that is approx. 5 years old and noticed a significant difference riding the 2014 Elite. Fast, smooth and fun.

                      Comments:

Well, I just sold off a mountain bike that I tried to make into a city, errands bike by changing to street tires. Failed experiment, still sluggish. But, this Sirrus Elite has saved the day! My 2013 Sirrus Elite is quick. Weighs 26 lbs, not bad for an XL frame bike. On the open road, I can get rolling quite fast, guessing 15 MPH or so, and with not too much pedaling effort. I feel the geometry is virtually perfect. Don't need to raise bars, change stem, nada. Even the saddle is nice. Firm, but wide and supportive. Minor bummer the handgrips were a regular size (circumference) and I have big hands for this XL bike. I needed to shelve the nice, but small Targa lock on grips and put on my Ergon GP1's. But, that's it, I don't see any other mods on the horizon. Nice looking bike too. Non-glossy Silver with black and red accents. Nice triple crank up front and 9 speed 11-32 wide gear cassette. Shifts great and the brakes are quiet and stop well. Good size tires for city riding. No flats yet, in 2 weeks ownership! I ride on bumpy, gritty paved trails at times and this bike handles it well at moderate speeds. I've never had a bike like this before, just a couple road bikes and mountain bikes which I ended up using around town. This Sirrus is my favorite bike for city use, by far. U-lock mounted on frame and sturdy chain in backpack, I'll park it on any good rack and shop for awhile. I'm set, don't need anything else :)

I ride a minimum of a few miles every day, with occassional longer rides. Chain stretch and seat squeak have been the only problems. Both were fixed under warrenty. The front derailer and brakes are not the best quality, but overall the bike is very good for the money. The previous version of this bike had 9 gears on the rear instead of 8, but this is not a problem for me. [...]

Just got back into riding after about a 10 year break. I love this bike. Have had it about 3 1/2 months and put about 700 miles on it. No problems with it whatsoever. It is a road oriented hybrid so keep that in mind of you like doing a little off roading... My only upgrades were clipless pedals and slightly more narrow tires. Now it's perfect. I plan to put a couple thousand miles on it before upgrading to a full on road bike.

As a fitness/rec bike, you can't do much better at this price point. I bought this to replace a Giant road bike, which at 56 I found a little uncomfortable to ride. The upright position is just what I need. The component set is good for the money. It's a comfortable, well built bike. For road use in a non-competitive setting, it's great. You can pay a lot more for a bike with features you don't need on a rec/fitness bike. This one fits me well, is nicely made and designed, and offers value for money. I like the bike. I recommend it.

Very comfortable, fast, smooth and forgiving over bumps, and easy shifting. We use the bikes for recreational rides and fitness. I could not be more pleased! I am glad we chose this model with the carbon fiber forks and anti-vibration inserts; you can definitely tell a difference!
