Specialized's Roubaix SL4 Sport is an awesome upgrade for any cyclist looking to redefine their limits. The Specialized SL4 FACT 8r carbon frame has all the road absorbing, engineered compliance that you'd expect, while providing all the responsiveness and performance you need for long days in the saddle. Married to the plush frame is the FACT carbon fork, optimized for stiffness while smoothing out the bumps in the roads. Road chatter is also absorbed through the Zertz elastomer inserts. The AXIS Elite wheels offer a great ride and quality construction at an incredible value for epic days in the saddle over varying terrain. Awosome bike for the price, novice rider, 170 pounds, I used it every weekend I do 40 miles on it. Very fast, easy shifting. My only problem is that the saddle is not very comfortable, at the 25 miles mark, the pain becomes very significant. Today I move the seat backwards and hope that would solve the problem. the rims look kind of cheap, so I would be replacing them for better ones, other than that is a great bike to start out with!!

I'm a novice 210 pound older rider. Began with Trek 1.2 with 9 speed 11-28 cassette, 700-23, Sora components and aluminum frame and enjoyed it. Upgraded to this bike and I love it. The 105 components are incredibly smooth working. The 11-32 cassette gave me a new low gear. An added benefit was the transition between gears is much smoother because of the 11 speed 105 components. The Specialized Zerts made the ride MUCH more comfortable. I had tried 700-25's on my old bike but didn't like the feel. So I think the gain in smoothness is due to the Zerts. And the carbon frame helped reduce the weight. Well worth the investment.

I'm still a novice rider, but I've put > 500 miles on this bike since I got it and I love it! I ride either on streets or on paved trails. This bike really accelerates fluidly and easily. The 11-speed cassette really helps fill in any "gaps" in shifting gears and acceleration. And the Zertz not only make the ride more comfortable, but also seem to give the bike better traction, which equals faster! If you are thinking about an entry level bike, this is a great choice and then some! This bike FLIES!
