2014 Specialized Rockhopper Comp 29

Take back the trail and show rocks and roots who's boss with Specialized's Rockhopper Comp 29er. Its big wheels, svelte A1-aluminum frame and RockShox suspension fork work together to turn once-formidable tech sections into smooth highways of loamy dirt. Other legit touches found on this rig include the reliable RH rims, a slick 2x10 SRAM drivetrain and Tektro disc brakes that stop on a dime in even the nastiest conditions. And, you'll also dig the Specialized aluminum components and comfy Body Geometry saddle.

Great bike, but for the price I would expect a little higher quality front derailleur. The Acera rattles and rings right from the get-go. That's just a small complaint and an easy fix/upgrade. Other than that the pedals are pretty cheap so you can expect to upgrade those too.

I bought this bike about two weeks ago and it's a great choice. Performance and quality are both really good and it's a very good looking one too. See you on road!

            First Real Mountain Bike

I just picked this up from my LBS here in North Dakota and I love it! I grew up racing BMX, transitioned to BMX dirt jumping and until now I've only dabbled in mtbing on friends' bikes so this is my first real mountain bike. I was worried about getting a 29er as my first mountain bike but the geometry on this put that to bed quick. My only complaint is the fork; on rougher bits on a local trail I could feel the flex in the fork making damping a bit erratic but when a few hundred more dollars float my way it can be fixed easily. Oh.. and.. THAT PAINT!

Nice bike, nice colour, good price for final product. I use to ride a 26 Merida TFS Matts 2011, this is my first 29 for me for tasting.

I use this bike for trails, and family rides on the back country roads and rail trails. Works great all around and looks great too. I bought the red and shortly after my dad bought the charcoal.

I purchased my 2012 Rockhopper Comp 3 weeks ago and could not be happier. I recently got back into biking and wanted to replace my 20 year old mountain bike. I have put over 300 miles on it since I purchased it in a mix of road and single track. This week we went to Lake Chelan in Washington State and I road the Chelan Butte from bottom to top, which is 2800' of vertical elevation gain over roughly 5 miles. The single track is fairly technical in places with many rocks, and the Rockhopper performed very very well. I ran this circuit two days in a row for a total of 11,200' of total vertical.

Great bike for recreational and competitive mtn bike riders. I upgraded the tires to S-Works Fast Trak, Stan's No Tubes, and Shimano XT-770 cassette 11-34t. Future upgrades: Rockshox or Fox fork, XT Hollowtech Crankset, carbon handblebar, stem, and seatpost. Overall, a great, durable bike at a great price!!
