I'm in no way, shape, or form a mountain bike guy. I bought the bike to do "some" trail and go around the neighborhoods in Virginia Beach. I'm a Harley rider and experienced metal worker. If you are looking for quality and a very WELL made bike, look no further!

This is my first bike. After consulting with the guys at the shop, I was convinced that this was the bike for me. I'm 43 YO 6'5"-250 lbs., the bike handles great. I like to ride hard. I've taken some serious falls and the bike is a good as new. If you can spare a few more bucks, get rear suspension - regardless which trail your ride, it will be a more comfortable ride. Moreover, I did some research, I could not find a better price. Purchased at the Southlake, TX store- Great guys.

I bought this bike like 2 weeks ago and I have to say that I'm so satisfied with the product. I've driving it for almost 250 km in different terrains like paviment, ground and rocks and the performance of every single component is incredible superior than the other ones. The hydraulic disc brakes are so safety and effective and the SR Suntour suspenssion has a good performance. The Shimano Alivio 9-speed rear derailleurIn and the shifters are awesome, the power transfer is so good! In this bike everything is the best. Good Job Specialized!

I'd say everything about this bike is great except for the rear derailleur. Putting too much force down at once sometimes make the chain pop out of place. But beyond that it's a great bike. Definitely worth the money and a good beginner-mid level bike.

This bike is very fast on the single tracks, and handles well. Climbing steep hills is great with the 27 speed trans. I also love the hydraulic brakes. At first I was uncomfortable with the extra wide handle bars and crank diameter, but once I got used to them, the bike is that much more agile. the only downside to such a wide crank is occasionally hitting roots and rocks, and timing pedal strokes to get over logs and large rocks.

my first bike in 35 years....got it for exercise (which I hate) but after working off some fat, I got to enjoying the ride... handles mud, sand and is smooth on paved surfaces...I shopped around and the bike gave the most for the money of anything I looked at, and it delivered more in fun and performance than I was expecting

This bike has surpassed my expectations. I have never had a mountain bike and have not ridden a bike in years, but a few friends of mine talked me into buying a bike and going out with them. I did not want to spend the thousands of dollars that they had on a bike, but did not want to but a cheap bike that would not last, so I did some looking around and talking and went with the RockHopper this bike has my friends in amazement due to it is able to withstand the abuse I put it through trying to keep up with them. It shifts smooth and stops fast all the components work better than I expected. I would recommend this bike to anyone.
