I am deaf and use a cochlear implant, so I wear a magnetic transmtting piece of hardware on the side of my head. This head piece sits right where a helmet sits, and helmets are always a problem for cochlear implant users. The large size of this helmet fits over the head piece without dislodging it, and then I use the adjusting wheel in the back to make it fit snug. In addition to being a good quality helmet and at a good price, it also solves what is a real problem for us that use a cochlear implant.

Due to the oval shape of my head, every other helmet I have worn has fit with the shell hard against the front and back of my head, instead of being suspended away with some space, even so-called L and XL helmets, and things would be even worse w/ cold weather gear. I am a year-around rider in NE Ohio, riding 200-500 miles in any given month. The MAX size XL fits great, has great ventilation and is very light. It did its job during a recent crash and I will be wearing another one in a few weeks when I'm back on the bike. It doesn't look as sexy as some other helmets, but it does the job it was made to do.
