When my mountain bike got stolen I was pretty upset but replacing it with this specialized cross trail has wiped those tears away. More speed for road riding with all the toughness for the trails (and for road riding considering current infrastructure). Love this awesome bike. Only regret not getting disc brakes.

So far I am enjoying the Crosstrail. I tried the Crosstrail Comp Disc and fell in love with it, but it was out of my price range. I also tried the Giant Roma 3, Kona Dew, and Trek 8.2, but found each of them lacking in one degree or another. This one was balanced. The cons can be adjusted or upgraded to better componentry in time, so I'm not sweating it. Great bike!

Have not owned or rode a bike in 30 years. Bought a Specialized Crosstrail earlier this Spring. Tried three different brands. All were similar, and all were about the same, but to me, the Specialized just had a better fit, feel, and was more comfortable on the two trial rides I gave each bike. I ride mostly on a packed gravel trail and occasionally go in the grass and dirt to get around others. I have gone as far as 26 miles on the trail. I like the ease of shifting thru the gears, the weight of the bike, the way it handles, and the front shock to cushion small holes on the trail. I haven't had any problems with the gears or with the chain slipping. I am not sorry I bought this bike and would recommend it to anyone.

Had to find a bike that would fit and hold me up at 54 yeares old and 230 lbs. Ride to and from the tennis club. Easy shifting, easy riding - not a lot of cash.

I'm a bike virgin. Did a little research and decided on a Hybrid. Test rode a few at the store and settled on this one. Two weeks and 20-25 miles (again I'm a bike virgin) and I'm still very happy w/ my choice.

I love my new Crosstrail! Of all the hybrids I test-rode, this one was the most comfortable. The riding position is more upright than many other hybrids. The Crosstrail's shifting is very smooth, the seat is comfortable, and the hand-grips are simply amazing. I use the bike for recreational riding in neighborhoods and some light trails. The tires on the Crosstrail are smooth rolling on pavement, but also have good grip in light gravel/dirt. The suspension fork really smooths out the bumps.

GOOD : Good and fun bike for the price. Front suspension fork works well, rim brakes are pretty good, great paint job, most drivetrain components are good for a hybrid bike /shimano / BAD: wheels are not true out of the box. Really soft rims and tires seems to be not perfectly round... Low rolling tires are not safe on ride on gravel in sharp turns. After first few rides I found couple scratches on the forks top tubes . Cheap Suntour crank with good but cheap pedals. Overall, this is a good and fun to ride bike. Retail price is little to high for what you are getting. Most components are good quality and easy to upgrade if needed. I recommend this bike if you can buy it on sale. I got a great deal on mine and I shouldn't complain.

Interesting concept for bike. Mountain bike tube size frame with 700c size tires. Sort of like a more pavement usable 29er or flat bar cyclocross. Does extremely well on rail to trail grass, dirt and gravel. Rides great for what it is also on blacktop. Pretty comfortable too. Have many types of bikes but this is my Pickup truck" kind of bike. Great platform too if your thinking of going with an electric assist kit.
