went with the 105s because of the wide platform. After only 250 km the pin holding the release mechanism came loose and the pedal didn't hold the cleat. My local LBS replaced the pedals and the same thing happened with the replacement pair. Shimano reps only comment is he has never seen this happen. Has anyone else have this happen to them?

I use these clips on a Trek Madone riding 300 miles a week and have been using them for 2 years. They have never failed me. The vertical positioning of the pedals make them easy to clip in after a stop without looking down. Of course like any clipless system, it takes a few days to get used to them if you are new to using clipless pedals. My only complaint is that the pedals I purchased were black and silver and the black started wearing off right away making the pedals look worn. I would buy these again but look for all silver or gray ones.

After months of riding 3 to 5 times a week the pedals have finally broken in and become easier to clip in and out of. It would be nice if Shimano modified the adjustment screw to allow for a few more turns in the negative direction. For those of us that are smaller riders it would help considerably.
