Fizik's Bar Gel with Tape is a great way to make every ride more fun and comfortable. The gel adds excellent padding and protection thanks to Fizik's Technogel — the same material that's found in their world-class saddles. Plus, the pro-quality tape is constructed from Microtex, a perforated synthetic-leather-like material that's durable, stretch resistant, breathable, smooth and comfortable to the touch, even when wet.

Comments:
My first impressions of this system were all very possitive, but after a few 80+ mile rides with a lot of climbing (4,000 ft +) the edges are already starting to curl enough I am replacing the tape with Torelli Moda Chunky - the tape my bike mechanic & riding partner has had on his bike for 3 years now. I have had the Fi:zik system on for a month, and have only 300 miles or so on it. As much as I like the gel strips, (they are easy to custom cut and install and WON'T burn through with hot-spots) they aren't quite enough for centuries. We are experimenting with Dr Scholl's memory foam insoles wrapped over the bottom of the bar for double-centuries as the gel is still a little too hard for rides longer than 8 hours, but is a great "bottoming" layer for memory foam. (which compresses under high pressures areas to spread hot-spots over a larger area) In summary, get the Fi:zik bar gel kit and use Cinelli or Torelli tape. It's a few bucks cheaper, a whole lot more durable, and offers better protection.
